Stakeholder protection

Grievance mechanism.

Affected communities, project workers, civil society and any other stakeholders can submit a grievance about a project listed on Terminal Carbon.

How to submit

Email grievance@terminalcarbon.com with: the project name, your contact details (anonymous submissions accepted with limited follow-up), the nature of the concern, and any supporting evidence (documents, photos, recordings, GPS, dates).

What we do with it

We acknowledge within 5 business days, log the grievance in our internal register, share the substance (not your identity, unless you consent) with the project owner, and request a documented response within 20 business days.

Escalation

If you are not satisfied with the response, you may request escalation to (a) the relevant standard's grievance channel (Verra, Gold Standard, JCM Joint Committee, etc.), or (b) the host-country regulator. We will support that escalation with our case file.

Protection from retaliation

We will not share submitter identity with the project owner without consent. Retaliation against a complainant by a project owner is grounds for project suspension from Terminal Carbon.

What this is not

Terminal Carbon's grievance mechanism does not replace courts, regulators, or the standards' formal grievance processes. It is a complementary, low-friction channel.
